Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue is a charity we are proud to have supported for over ten years. Every penny raised goes directly toward the care and welfare of the dogs. They’re run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time to providing dogs with safe, secure, and loving homes. Unlike many rescues, YRDR doesn’t use kennels—dogs are placed in foster homes with families, allowing them to be properly assessed before being rehomed.
Back in 2014, they were being charged for every dog they wanted to feature on the website, so our director Carl offered to help out with their website. This led to the formation of ICON Web Design. Since then, we’ve continued to work with the dog rescue charity, redesigning their website three times and helping with their ongoing digital marketing, news posts and social media.
Now, things have come full circle. Our newest team member is a rescue from Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue. The adoption process was seamless, and we couldn’t be happier with how well she is settling in. We’ll let her introduce herself…

BARKETING SPECIALIST
Hi, I’m Maggie and I’m excited to join the team at ICON despite it being against my will. I bring a wealth of expertise, including three months’ experience of being alive, which will make me an incredible asset to the team. I don’t know how they survived without me to be honest.
In my short time at the company, I have taken on several important responsibilities, including attending meetings (sometimes uninvited), monitoring lunch choices with great attention to detail and ensuring my colleagues take regular breaks to stop me from running into glass. I have also taken an active role in security, implementing a warning system for all dogs ten times my size.
Long-term, I am interested in growing within the company, ideally in avenues which will allow me to do less work and sleep more on the job.
